CREATE Webinar: calling for pedagogies of empathy

CREATE Webinar

Calling for pedagogies of empathy

In this first presentation of CREATE’s series of research webinars, Dr Alison Grove O’Grady will draw on work from a range of social scientists, performers, theorists, academics and playwrights to discuss the notion that empathy can, and should, be a productive pedagogy in every curriculum and discipline area. She will advocate exposure to and engagement with, theatrical traditions such as Stanislavsky’s method and etude approach. Following the presentation and discussion, we will virtually launch and celebrate the publication of Dr Grove O’Grady’s new book, Pedagogy Empathy and Praxis: Using Theatrical Traditions to Teach.
