Sydney Institute of Community Languages Education (SICLE) and Sydney School of Education and Social Work have joined forces to create a unique online learning opportunity for teachers to participate in NESA accredited professional development.
Completing any of the six 90-minute workshops in the Supporting Student’s Literacy Development in Science online program will contribute 90 minutes of NESA-registered PD, addressing the descriptors listed below from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW:

Webinar 6 – Integrating science, language and literacy – October 21 – 6.3.2
Presenters will be practising teachers, as well as researchers and teacher educators from Sydney University, who were involved in a Department of Education-funded projects in 2019 that partnered with eight secondary-school teams of science, EAL/D and literacy teachers working with Year 8 classes to develop student engagement and improved outcomes in secondary science.
